Taking into consideration the fact that in the city context there is a dysfunction between space and/or time for socialization, leave me thinking that in a way this lag could be a result of poor urban planning, where no spaces, establishing relation between city and men, exists. Aiming the reconciliation of these entities, the option was to center the investigation in the idea of space that articulates city as the street and men as the flat. The Interstitial Space in Collective Housing (ISiCH). Understanding that ISiCH is the purpose of this work. Whereas ISiCH is the space of collective housing that links dwellings and public roads. In this research, I was interested in how space could be qualified with the intention of mediating relation between citizens and city, in order to be appropriated and experienced. More than creating residual areas, I was interested in developing a housing core, suitable, being able of promoting cooperation and interaction between neighbors.
