medicamentos existentes no mercado?
There is today a growing need to investigate and develop medicinal products for children. According to the recent publication of the Regulation on medicinal products for paediatric use by the European Commission, the submission of a Paediatric Investigation Plan (PIP) will be mandatory for all medicinal products introduced in the market after June 2008. The impact of American initiatives concerning the development of medicinal products, which started precisely one decade ago, raises some questions: Which lessons have we learned with the Paediatric Exclusivity in the USA? What is the currently existing data regarding paediatric information in marketed medicinal products? We intend to analyse the information pertaining to paediatric medicinal products, published by the FDA and its use in planning strategies for the improvement of the information in paediatric medicines, in the European Union.
