A remodelação e
The analysis to be developed focuses on the possibility of requalification and architectural remodeling of a single-family villa, in the context of an Urban Area of Illegal Genesis (AUGI). The construction of clandestine neighborhoods of the so-called AUGI, had its preponderance in the 60's of the twentieth century, with all the problems associated with economic / social, political / autarchic, human / individual that actually were at the service of home self-construction in the peripheries of the Metropolitan Areas of Lisbon and Porto, and part of this reality prevails to this day. Housing shortages, poor financial resources, the lack of an effective housing policy coupled with the concentration of industrial areas and services in metropolitan areas, as well as unsanitary conditions, densification and lack of adequate housing are stigmatizers social, and these are some of the examples that will be focused throughout this investigation. The sociological studies carried out show that there is a direct relationship between the environment that people inhabit and expectations in future terms. The need to elaborate this study lies in the presumed or actual hypothetical contribution that architecture, as knowledge, practice, pragmatics, technique, art and workshop can play in the construction of single-family dwellings. The remodeling and requalification, contribute to the improvement of this type of housing, in order to provide better living conditions to the populations that inhabit these areas.
