O presente estudo tem por objetivo a analise e comparação das dimensões de ajustamento emocional e personalidade em jogadores online.
Foi utilizada uma amostra de 201 participantes dos quais 30.8% jogavam exclusivamente online (N=62) sendo que os restantes 69.2% jogavam online e offline (N=139). Relativamente ao género 58.7% são do sexo masculino (N=118) e 41.3% do sexo feminino (N=83). As idades encontram-se compreendidas entre os 18 e os 66 anos (M=30.29; Dp=9.29). Inicialmente foi concebido um protocolo de investigação, o mesmo composto por uma página de dados demográficos sendo utilizadas as seguintes medidas; Questionário de História e Comportamento de Jogo, Baseado no original realizado pelos Alcoólicos Anónimos, South Oaks Gambling Screen (SOGS) de Lesieur e Blume (1987), Big Five Inventory (BFI) John & Srivastava (1999) e a Escala de Ansiedade, Depressão e Stress (EADS) de Lovibond e Lovibond (1995).
Os resultados do estudo demonstram que existe uma correlação entre algumas das dimensões das variáveis em estudo. Revelando uma maior taxa de jogadores mistos (online e offline) que vai de encontro à literatura sobre o tema.
Verificou-se ainda que os jogadores pertencentes à amostra são maioritariamente do sexo masculino, com idades inferiores a 40 anos e com uma educação superior.
This study preted to analyze and compare the dimensions of emotional adjustment and personality in online players. A sample of 201 participants of which 30.8% were playing exclusively online was used (N = 62) and the remaining 69.2% played online and offline (N = 139). On gender 58.7% are male (N = 118) and 41.3% female (N = 83). Ages are between 18 and 66 years (M = 30.29; SD = 9.29). Initially a research protocol was designed, with the same demographic data comprises a page being used the following measures; Questionnaire History and Game Behavior, Based on the original held by Alcoholics Anonymous, South Oaks Gambling Screen (SOGS) of Lesieur and Blume (1987), Big Five Inventory (BFI) John & Srivastava (1999) and the Anxiety Scale, Depression Stress and (EADS) Lovibond and Lovibond (1995). The study results demonstrate that there is a correlation between some of the dimensions of the variables under study. Revealing a higher rate of mixed players (online and offline) that goes against the literature on the subject. It was also found that players belonging to the sample are mostly male, under the age of 40 and with a higher education.
