profissional, The Satisfaction With Life Scale, Cantril’s Ladder of Life Scale, Termómetro
da Felicidade, Flourishing Scale, a Scale of Positive and Negative Emotions, Mental
Health Continuum Short Form, Subjective Hapiness Scale, Extended Life Orientation
Test e Peace of Mind Scale.
a segurança e estabilidade profissional.
Regarding the present economic crises, its consequences to the Portuguese business structure and the purchasing ability of its consumers, the purpose of this research was to study the well-being of pharmacists and pharmaceutical technicians towards this economic crises. A sample of convenience was collected out of 319 pharmacists and pharmaceutical technicians, 146 men (46%) and 173 women (54%). The sample was collected in pharmacies in mainland Portugal and its islands, to professionals associated with the Portuguese National Pharmacies Association. As measures of evaluation a questionnaire was used on socio-demographic data and relating to professional activity, the Satisfaction with Life Scale, the Cantril´s Ladder of Life Scale, the Thermometer of Happiness, the Flourishing Scale, the Scale of Positive and Negative Emotions, the Mental Health Continuum Short Form, the Subjective Hapiness Scale, the Extended Life Orientation Test and Peace of Mind Scale. The results showed that pharmacists have a higher well-being that the pharmaceutical technicians, that the workers of pharmacies with layouts in the last year had a lower well-being, that old workers had less well-being, that the workers of the region of Lisbon showed greater well-being than in the North and the Center and more happiness than the Alentejo, as well as the participants who worked in metropolitan region presented values of well-being than work in less urbanized regions. It seems plausible to conclude that the pharmacists and pharmaceutical technicians are going through a phase where they feel very worried about the future, showing very sensitive to issues related to security and professional stability.
