Resumo
Este estudo incide sobre a relação teórica entre a Museologia, na vertente da
Sociomuseologia, e a categoria analítica Género que tentamos verificar através da análise
da imagem da mulher em exposições de alguns museus portugueses.
Numa época em que a preocupação com a igualdade de género está cada vez mais
presente na elaboração das políticas públicas e no desenvolvimento de projetos visando a
valorização igual da contribuição de homens e de mulheres na sociedade, torna-se
premente que a museologia se debruce sobre esta matéria.
Relacionar a museologia (com incidência na vertente da sociomuseologia) com a
categoria analítica género e compreender as repercussões que a integração da categoria
terá para a metodologia, o campo de estudo e o corpus teórico, integra-se nessas
preocupações gerais e nas tendências contemporâneas de atuação da museologia.
Abordando a questão do género sob uma ótica feminina, investigamos a imagem da
mulher em exposições museológicas em espaço museal, na tentativa de perceber se essas
imagens perpetuam os estereótipos e as categorias de mulher que promovem a
desigualdade e uma distinta valorização social da mulher.
This study focuses on the theoretical relationship between Museology, most precisely Sociomuseology, and the analytic category of Gender, relation that we try to clarify by analyzing women’s images in exhibitions in some Portuguese museums. At a time when the concern for gender equality is increasingly present in the formulation of public policies and in the development of projects aimed at the equal valorization of the contribution of men and women in society, it is urgent that museology looks into this matter. To relate museology (focusing on aspects of sociomuseology) with the analytic category of gender and to understand the impact this inclusion will have on methodology, field of study and theoretical corpus of museology, relates itself with those general concerns and the contemporary trends of museology performance. By addressing the issue of gender in a feminine perspective, we research women’s images in museum exhibitions, trying to understand if these images perpetuate social stereotypes and social categories of women that promote inequality and the distinct social valorization of women compared to men.
