Estilos de liderança dos profissionais do serviço social em instituições particulares de solidariedade social

Resumo
Os assistentes sociais desenvolvem atividades em instituições particulares de solidariedade
social onde são coordenadores de respostas sociais assim como diretores executivos de
equipamentos sociais. A nível da gestão a liderança é essencial para desenvolver mecanismos
de bem-estar e responder eficazmente às necessidades das pessoas e grupos onde as IPSS
estão implementadas. Neste âmbito pretendemos, analisar as opiniões dos profissionais de
Serviço Social no que se refere aos seus estilos de liderança exercidas nas instituições
particulares de solidariedade social.
Neste sentido foi delineada uma pesquisa de tipo qualitativo com recurso a métodos
qualitativos. As assistentes sociais coordenadoras em IPSS responderam a uma entrevista,
abrangendo as dimensões: o perfil dos profissionais, o tipo de instituição, a experiência
profissional na instituição/modelo de gestão e as potencialidades da liderança do Serviço
Social nas IPSS.
Os resultados revelam que nas IPSS as coordenadoras podem exercer vários estilos de
liderança face às funções exercidas nestas organizações, nomeadamente o estilo democrático
combinado com estilo de liderança mais diretiva.
Social workers develop activities in solidarity institutions wherein they co-ordinate social answers and they function as executive directors of social equipments. In terms of management, leadership is essential to promote well-being mechanisms and to answer efficiently to the needs of the communities and groups where IPSS are implemented. In this context we have the goal to analyse the opinions of professional social workers about the leadership styles they use on the day-to-day IPSS tasks and activities. A qualitative research with qualitative methods was designed in this context. The social workers that were co-ordinators of the IPSS answered an interview that included the following dimensions: the profile of the professionals, the sort of institution, the professional experience in the institution/management model and the potentialities of leadership of social service in the IPSS’s. Results suggest that in the IPSS the co-ordinators may use various leadership styles considering the functions they have in these organizations, namely the democratic style combined with a more directive leadership style.
