Abstract
The present article approches the problem of social and funcional stratification within mesopotamian temples. We want to demonstrated the existence of a multiplicity of functions which correspond to many tasks. The social organisation of the shrines was complex but historically rich. The mesopotamian temples all along several periods of their history had various activities which we may considered as: priestly function, domestic function and administrative function. As the society, the institutions were sociably stratified. That is the phenomenon we exemplify from documental sources.
