A intervenção do Serviço Social no protelamento da alta do idoso no serviço de urgência : o caso do Serviço de Urgência Polivalente do CHULCHospital de São José

Resumo
A presente investigação teve como objectivo proceder e analisar a gestão do protelamento de alta do idoso, no SUP do HSJ, através da caracterização do perfil, identificação das dificuldades na equipa multidisciplinar na gestão do protelamento, identificação dos motivos de protelamento e na compreensão do planeamento de alta, desenvolvido pela equipa multidisciplinar, com relevância para o papel do Serviço Social.
O protelamento no Serviço de Urgência Polivalente é consequente da multiplicidade de factores que se revelam fundamentais na análise desta temática, tais como: grau de dependência e redes de suporte.
Assim, foi utilizada a estratégia do estudo de caso, através da triangulação metodológica presente na discussão dos resultados obtidos. As técnicas e fontes de dados utilizadas foram: consulta e análise dos processos sociais, entrevistas á equipa multidisciplinar e análise documental.
Conclui-se, através dos resultados, que a gestão do protelamento de alta do idoso é efectuada pela equipa multidisciplinar, contudo o Assistente Social destaca-se como mediador do processo, tendo dois eixos centrais na intervenção: a reposta ao idoso, gestão eficaz e eficiente dos recursos do serviço.
The aim of this research was to perform and analyze the management of discharge protection of the elderly in the “Hospital São José” – Emergency Polyvalent, through the characterization of the profile, identification of difficulties in the multidisciplinary team in the management of delaying, identification of the delay reason and in understanding dicharge planning, devoloped by the multidisciplinar team, with relevance to the role of Social Work. The delay in the Emergency Polyvalent is consequente from the multiplicity of factos that are be fundamental in the analysis of this theme, such as: degree of dependency and support networks. It is conclued, through the results, that the management of discharge protection of the elderly in the Emergency Polyvalent is carried out by the multidisciplinar team, however, the Social Workers stand out as a mediator of the process, with two central axes in the intervention: the response to the elderly, and the effective and eficiente management of the resources of the service.
