Análise da relação entre o esporte e desempenho escolar : um estudo de caso

Resumo
A pesquisa resulta da necessidade de compreender a relação entre o esporte e desempenho
escolar, destacando os fatores relacionados aos aspectos de organização desse processo por
parte da instituição, de professores, técnicos e alunos, contextualizando o esporte, mediante
dados histórico-conceituais. Analisa-se como os alunos/atletas que conciliam a sua rotina
de treinamento esportivo com a escolarização básica conseguem sucesso escolar em
relação aos alunos que participam apenas das aulas de Educação Física na Escola da rede
Estadual Centro de Ensino Barbosa de Godóis da cidade de São Luís, Estado do Maranhão.
Três pressupostos básicos e fundamentais funcionam como balizas de orientação e de
observação teórica: (i) a relação entre prática esportiva competitiva e desempenho escolar;
(ii) o processo de escolarização dos alunos/atletas pertencentes às equipes desportivas e a
sua formação básica; (iii) as principais dificuldades dos alunos/atletas na conciliação
Desporto e na sua Formação, como estudantes. Neste contexto de pressupostos, insere-se o
trabalho na perspectiva de uma pesquisa de campo, de caráter Exploratório,
predominantemente qualitativa, descritiva e documental. Realizada por meio de
questionários, análise de documentos e observação do campo investigado. Os resultados
demonstraram que os alunos-atletas não encontraram dificuldades em conciliar a prática
esportiva como os estudos.
The research results from the need to understand the relationship between sport and school performance, highlighting the factors related to the organizational aspects of this process by the institution, teachers, technicians and students, contextualizing the sport, using historical-conceptual data. It is analyzed how the students / athletes who reconcile their routine of sports training with the basic schooling achieve school success in relation to the students who only participate in the classes of Physical Education in the School of the State network Center of Teaching Barbosa de Godóis of the city of São Luís, State of Maranhão. Three basic and fundamental assumptions function as guiding and theoretical observation beacons: (i) the relationship between competitive sports practice and school performance; (ii) the schooling process of the students / athletes belonging to the sports teams and their basic training; (iii) the main difficulties of the students / athletes in the conciliation Sport and in their Formation, as students. In this context of assumptions, the work is inserted in the perspective of a field research, of exploratory character, predominantly qualitative, descriptive and documentary. Conducted through questionnaires, document analysis and observation of the field investigated. The results showed that the student-athletes did not find it difficult to reconcile sports practice like the studies.
