Da ruptura à psicopatologia: a importância e as consequências do suporte social em reclusos

A presente dissertação propôs-se compreender a possível ligação entre a Ruptura Social vivenciada pelo indivíduo enclausurado e os consequentes Sintomas Psicopatológicos numa amostra de 51 reclusos do Estabelecimento Prisional Instalado Junto da Polícia Judiciária de Lisboa. O objectivo assentou na averiguação da existência de uma relação entre o Suporte Social, o Abandono Aprendido e a Depressão, Ansiedade e Stress. Os instrumentos utilizados foram a Escala Multidimensional de Suporte Social Percebido de Zimet, Dahlem, Zimet & Farley (1988), a Escala de Abandono Aprendido de Quinless e McDermott (1988), e a Escala de Ansiedade, Depressão e Stress, de Lovibond & Lovibond (1995).
A relação entre o Suporte Social e a Depressão, Ansiedade e Stress, não foram significativas. Os sujeitos experienciam um elevado abandono aprendido, que varia consoante a sua idade e a sua escolaridade. No que diz respeito à sintomatologia, os reclusos preventivos vivenciam mais depressão, ansiedade e stress.
As conclusões obtidas assumem importância para a Psicologia Forense e da Exclusão Social, numa perspectiva de reorganização do indivíduo, visando a sua reinserção na sociedade.
This dissertation proposed to understand the possible connection between the Social disruption experienced by individual enclosed and the consequent Psychopathological Symptoms in a sample of 51 inmates of the Estabelecimento Prisional Instalado Junto da Polícia Judiciária de Lisboa. The objective of this research was to investigate the existence of a relationship between Social Support, Learned Helplessness, and Depression, Anxiety and Stress. The used instruments had been the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support of Zimet, Dahlem, Zimet & Farley (1988), the Learned Helplessness Scale of Quinless and McDermott (1988), and the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale of Lovibond & Lovibond (1995). The relation between the Social Support and the Depression, Anxiety and Stress, had not been significant. The subjects experiencing a high Learned Helplessness that varies depending on their age and education. In what says respect to the symptomatology, preventative inmates experience more depression, anxiety and stress. The conclusions obtained assume importance for Forensic Psychology and Social Exclusion with a view to reorganizing the individual, aiming at their reintegration into society.
