Resumo
Este estudo trata da sexualidade e gênero no contexto de uma escola pública localizada no município de Nova Cruz/RN. A questão central da pesquisa é investigar qual a concepção dos adolescentes acerca da sexualidade e tem como objetivo compreender como a sexualidade e as relações de gênero são manifestadas por alunos e alunas no contexto escolar. A visão epistemológica ancora-se em Michel Foucault com a História da Sexualidade, bem como Giddens e Heilborn com as contribuições dos seus estudos sobre sexualidade e gênero. A pesquisa foi realizada junto ao corpo discente, tendo como instrumento de investigação a aplicação de um questionário semiestruturado, que viabilizou a coleta de dados e a análise da pesquisa. Portanto, entende-se que informações do ponto de vista científico são fundamentais para a ampliação de conceitos e desmistificação de tabus e crendices, no que se refere a gênero, consciência corporal, elevação da autoestima, prevenção de doenças sexualmente transmissíveis, gravidez não planejada e violência sexual. Por fim, concluo que as concepções reveladas pelos sujeitos da pesquisa são pautadas em dúvidas e questionamentos acerca da sexualidade o que nos possibilita perceber a necessidade de institucionalização da Educação Sexual na escola.
This study deals with sexuality and gender in the context of a public school located in the city of Nova Cruz/RN. The main question of the research is to investigate which is the conception of adolescents about sexuality and its aim is to understand how sexuality and gender relations are expressed by students in the school context. The epistemological vision is based in Michel Foucault with the history of Sexuality, as well as Giddens and Heilborn with contributions from his studies of sexuality and gender. The survey was conducted by the student body, having as research instrument the application of a semi-structured questionnaire that contributed to data collection and the research analysis. Therefore, it is understood that the information from a scientific point of view are fundamental to enlarge concepts as also the demystification of taboos and superstitions concerning to gender, the body awareness, the elevation of the self-esteem, prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, unplanned pregnancy and sexual violence. Finally, I conclude that the conceptions revealed by the subject of the survey are based on questions and concerns about the sexuality which enables us to perceive the need for institutionalization of Sexual Education in school
