O Ensino Médio Integrado: a superação do dualismo entre o ensino profissionalizante e o propedêutico

Resumo
Este trabalho tem como objetivo central verificar se o Ensino Médio Integrado (EMI) proporciona ao estudante a habilitação tanto para inserir-se dignamente no mundo do trabalho quanto para continuar os estudos no ensino superior. Busca ainda: a) compreender a articulação do ensino médio com a educação profissional técnica de nível médio, b) identificar o perfil do EMI, c) levantar dados sobre alunos egressos dessa modalidade de ensino que ingressaram no mercado profissional e/ou no ensino superior, além de d) analisar o dualismo entre o caráter propedêutico e a formação para o trabalho. A pesquisa sustenta-se na Sociologia da Educação e do Trabalho e analisa a evolução histórica do ensino médio no Brasil, assim como as leis que regulamentam esse nível de ensino. Os sujeitos da pesquisa foram o Diretor de Ensino Técnico, professores e alunos concludentes de cinco cursos do EMI em 2011, do Instituto Federal do Maranhão - IFMA. O recurso metodológico utilizado é o método misto, discutido por Sampieri, Callado & Lucio (2013), considerando as particularidades da pesquisa que não podem ser quantificáveis. Os resultados encontrados revelaram que há uma mudança de foco, pois a grande maioria ingressou no curso superior, havendo uma inversão na proposta do EMI.
This work is mainly aimed to verify whether the Integrated Secondary School (EMI) enables the student both to worthily enter the world of work and to continue studies in higher education. It a lso seeks : a) to understand the articulation of high school with a vocational technical high school education, b) to identify the profile of EMI , c) to collect data about students graduating this school level who entered the labor market and /or a higher education insti tution , and d) to analyz e the dualism between the introductory character and training for work. The research supports on the Sociology of Education and Labour and analyzes the historical evolution of secondary education in Brazil, as well as the laws that regulate this level of education. The research subjects were the Director of Technical Education, teachers and conclusive students of the Federal Institute of Maranhão (IFMA). The methodological approach used is the mixed method, discussed by Sampieri, Cal lado & Lucio (2013), taking into account the particularities of the researc h that may not be quantifiable. The results showed that there is a shift in focus, as the vast majority entered a higher education institution, with a reversal in the proposed EMI
