Factores motivacionais e satisfação com a vida em voluntários de equipas de rua

Abstract

A presente investigação tem por objetivo estudar os fatores motivacionais dos voluntários das equipas de rua de uma IPSS de Lisboa - Comunidade Vida e Paz e a relação com a sua satisfação de vida. Foram recolhidas respostas de 44 homens (38,6 %) e 70 mulheres (61,4 %), o que perfaz uma amostra de 114 voluntários (N=114), com idades compreendidas entre os 19 e os 64 anos, sendo os níveis etários mais significativos os que se situam entre os 35-44 anos (N=28 24,5%). As medidas utilizadas foram o Inventário das Funções do Voluntário (VFI), instrumento desenvolvido por Gil Clary, Mark Snyder, Robert Ridge, John Copeland, Arthur Stukas, Julie Hangen e Peter Mien (1992), que mede seis fatores motivacionais para exercer o voluntariado e a Escala de Satisfação com a Vida, versão de Diener, RA.,Emmons, R.J.,Larsen, & S. Griffin (1985), com a tradução de J. Rosa e A. Baptista,1997, e que avalia o juízo subjetivo que cada indivíduo faz sobre a qualidade da sua própria vida. A análise dos dados permitiu concluir que, à semelhança dos vários estudos, este vai ao encontro da literatura e os resultados obtidos convergem maioritariamente quanto à ordenação dos fatores motivacionais dos voluntários. Já nas hipóteses levantadas, concluiu-se que não existem diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre as dimensões do estudo. Os valores, género Masculino -25,250 M (Média) e 7,386 DP (Desvio Padrão) e género Feminino - 28,914 M e 4,667 DP atingidos na função Experiência são a exceção e revelam as diferenças entre os sexos, onde os sujeitos do sexo feminino apresentam níveis significativamente superiores ao masculino.

The present investigation aims at studying the motivational factors of street teams volunteers of a Lisbon IPSS - Comunidade Vida e Paz and the relationship between those and the level of satisfaction in their live courses. The enquiries were gathered among 44 men (38.6%) and 70 women (61.4%), which amounts to a sample of 114 volunteers (N = 114), aged between 19 and 64 years old, with the most significant age level around 35-44 years (N=28 - 24.5%).This study made use of the Volunteer Function Inventory, developed by Gil Clary, Mark Snyder, Robert Ridge, John Copeland, Arthur Stukas, Julie Hangen and Peter Mien (1992), which measures six motivational factors to be a volunteer and the Satisfaction with Life Scale, version of Diener, RA.,Emmons, R.J.,Larsen, & S. Griffin (1985) translated by J. Rosa and A. Baptista, 1997, which evaluates the subjective judgment that each individual makes on the quality of their own life. Data analysis showed, like in the similarity of other various studies, this study is consistent with the literature and the results converge mostly in relationship to the motivational factors order of the volunteers. The hypotheses rose led to the conclusion that there are no statistically significant differences between the dimensions of the study.
