(2003), Marques (2001), Schwartz (1992), a presente investigação obteve ainda a colaboração
This research set out to study the contributions that public school offers as an area of ethical and moral development of students, and accordingly sought to understand considering the many challenges that come to school with the students, what strategies were developed for the purpose to teach important life values of these. Childbirth then the understanding of which strategies and practices are developed in public school in order to contribute to the moralethical education of students. From studies carried out by several authors, including theorists that supported our research, Gouveia (2003), Marques (2001), Schuwartz (1992), this research has also obtained the collaboration of 153 students from the 2nd and 3rd years of School, corresponding to young students residing in urban and rural areas. The school in which we conducted our study contains 38 classrooms, working in three shifts, totaling about 1,400 students and is the only school in the county to offer a high school diploma, which is the target of our investigation, and we provided information on the contribution of the school to the aforementioned ethical-moral formation of students. The delimitation by students of said series was due to these being well adapted to the work developed by the school. Also considered was the age when choosing students, due to the level of the questions in the questionnaire adapted from Gouveia (QVB). To analyze the results of human values were calculated statistics of mean and standard deviation. Although we calculated the confidence interval for the mean score of the assessed values. To compare the distribution of scores of human values according to the higher education of father / mother and age, we used the Kruskal-Wallis test. From the data obtained, we believe that the school should put up clearly about what education proposal is interesting offer its young students and future citizens that society really needs. The proposed education must lead the learning developed a sense of transforming society through the young students who spend every day for their classrooms.
