dc.description.abstractEste trabalho propõe-se a explorar as possibilidades da Museologia Social na transformação das condições de vida de populações vulneráveis. Analisa-se o impacto das políticas públicas habitacionais em Lisboa, especialmente nos bairros municipais, que, ao longo do tempo, contribuíram para a exclusão social e cultural, restringindo o direito à memória, à cultura, ao patrimônio e à cidade. A investigação contextualiza o surgimento da Museologia Social e da Sociomuseologia, destacando suas aproximações com o Serviço Social. Três elementos centrais orientam a análise: os destinatários da intervenção, os profissionais do serviço social e o território como espaço de construção coletiva. A metodologia adotada envolveu revisão bibliográfica e triangulação entre pesquisa-ação, pesquisa dedutivo-indutiva e exploratória. Duas experiências museológicas foram desenvolvidas: o Projeto de Intervenção Artística no Bairro 2 de Maio e a exposição Memórias, Identidade e Liberdade no Bairro da Liberdade. Os resultados demonstram que a vulnerabilidade pode ser reduzida através da mobilização das redes locais e da valorização dos saberes e práticas dos moradores. A Museologia Social emerge, assim, como instrumento de resistência e fortalecimento de narrativas coletivas, promovendo o protagonismo e a inclusão social nos territórios.pt
dc.description.abstractThis work aims to explore the potential of Social Museology in transforming the living conditions of vulnerable populations. It analyzes the impact of public housing policies in Lisbon, especially in municipal neighborhoods, which, over time, have contributed to social and cultural exclusion by restricting the right to memory, culture, heritage, and the city itself. The research contextualizes the emergence of Social Museology and Sociomuseology, highlighting their connections with Social Work. Three core elements guide the analysis: the target groups of intervention, social work professionals, and the territory as a space of collective construction. The methodology combined bibliographic review with a triangulation of action research, deductive-inductive methods, and exploratory research. Two museological experiences were developed: the Artistic Intervention Project in Bairro 2 de Maio and the exhibition Memories, Identity and Freedom in Bairro da Liberdade. The results indicate that vulnerability can be reduced through the mobilization of local networks and the recognition of residents’ knowledge and practices. Social Museology thus emerges as a tool for resistance and for strengthening collective narratives, promoting community protagonism and social inclusion within the territories.en
