O resveratol como uma molécula anti-envelhecimento

Resumo
Com o aumento da esperança de vida da população mundial, a área do anti-envelhecimento tem progredido bastante tanto a nível molecular como clínico. Hoje em dia, a população preocupa-se cada vez mais não só em viver vários anos mas também em viver bem, de boa saúde com uma aparência jovem. É neste âmbito que surge o resveratrol, um polifenol anti-oxidante com diversos efeitos biológicos. Este é encontrado em elevadas quantidades na planta Polygonum cuspidatum, uvas e vinho tinto, estando presente em menores quantidades em arandos, groselhas vermelhas, amendoins, entre outros. Evidências laboratoriais têm demonstrado que o resveratrol actua não só contra o envelhecimento cutâneo como também contra o envelhecimento biológico de vários órgãos e sistemas, nomeadamente do sistema cardiovascular, esquelético, neurológico, aumentando ainda a esperança de vida de vários organismos como em leveduras e peixes. Além de todas estas propriedades, o resveratrol é ainda uma molécula com propriedades anti-cancerígenas, anti-angiogénicas, anti-bacterianas, anti-fúngicas e anti-virais.
With world’s population increasing life expectancy, the anti-aging science has progressed quite well not only at the molecular level but also at clinician. Nowadays, population is concerned with living many years healthy with a youthful appearance. It is in this context that resveratrol appears, a polyphenol antioxidant with many biological effects, found in large quantities in the plant Polygonum cuspidatum, grapes and red wine being present in smaller quantities cranberries, red currants, nuts, among others. Laboratory evidence has shown that resveratrol acts against skin aging and biological aging of various organs and systems, including cardiovascular system, skeletal system, neurological system, increasing life expectancy of various organisms such as yeast and fish. In addition to these properties, resveratrol has anti-cancer, anti-angiogenic, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties.
