Grau de satisfação dos idosos institucionalizados em Lar: a importância da Gestão para o Bem-Estar psicossocial do idoso

Resumo
Este estudo tem como objetivo conhecer as práticas de gestão potenciadoras do bem-estar psicossocial do idoso institucionalizado em Lar. Optou-se por métodos qualitativos e quantitativos. Assim, a recolha de dados foi realizada em dois Lares, através da aplicação de uma entrevista semi diretiva dirigida à Direção Técnica dos Lares sobre as várias dimensões da gestão e ainda de três instrumentos já testados: índice Katz., Escala para Medida da satisfação com a Vida., Inquérito de Avaliação do Grau de Satisfação dos Clientes de Lar
A partir da análise dos dados coletados, pode-se concluir que as dimensões mais valorizadas pela gestão são os Recursos Humanos e as instalações. Os utentes na sua maioria são independentes (aplicação da Escala de avaliação da Vida diária - Índice de Katz) e declararam estar pouco satisfeitos com a vida. Os aspetos indicados como motivos de grande satisfação com o Lar são as instalações e o pessoal do Lar, sendo a alimentação o aspeto que mereceu mais desagrado.
Não foi possível provar a existência de qualquer relação entre a satisfação com o Lar e o nível de dependência dos idosos, e o grau de satisfação com a vida.
This study aims to know the management practices that enhance the psychosocial well-being of the elderly institutionalized in nursing homes. It was adopted by qualitative and quantitative methods. Thus, the data collection was performed in two Homes The data collection was carried out in two Homes, through the application of a semi-directive interview conducted to the Technical Directorate of Homes on the various management dimensions and a questionnaire survey to 15 users of each household, in a total of 30 questionnaires. The Katz Index - Current Form, daily life activities assessment scale, and the Life Satisfaction Measurement Scale were also applied. From the analysis of the collected data, it can be concluded that the most valued dimensions by the management are the Human Resources and the facilities. Most users are independent (applying the Daily Life Assessment Scale - Katz Index) and declared to be dissatisfied with life. The aspects indicated as reasons for great satisfaction with the nursing home were the facilities and the staff. The food was the aspect that deserved more displeasure. It was not possible to prove the existence of any relation between satisfaction with the nursing home and the level of dependence of the elderly, and with the degree of satisfaction with life.
