dc.description.abstractO presente estudo tem como finalidade averiguar de que forma é possível motivar e desenvolver a competência e o gosto pela leitura, na disciplina de Língua Portuguesa, de alunos angolanos do Ensino Básico. Pretende também investigar as perceções de alunos e professores, sobre o aperfeiçoamento da leitura, ao longo do processo de aprendizagem. A escolha do tema prende-se com o facto de, em Angola, a maior parte dos alunos não ter o Português como língua materna, apesar de o ensino ser ministrado em Português. Ou seja, grande parte dos alunos tem o Português como segunda língua, falando línguas nacionais ou variantes. Esta situação origina que os alunos enfrentem dificuldades acrescidas na aprendizagem, não apenas na disciplina de Língua Portuguesa, mas também em todas as restantes disciplinas. A pesquisa, de natureza qualitativa-quantitativa, foi realizada numa Escola Básica e Secundária, no Município de Belas, na cidade de Luanda, em Angola. A aplicação de dois inquéritos por questionário, um deles a nove professores de Português e o outro a oitenta alunos da 6ª classe do Ensino Básico, permitiu a recolha e análise de dados. Os resultados comprovam que grande parte dos alunos lê apenas livros escolares e que a leitura não é uma prática regular. Contudo, os alunos reconhecem a importância da leitura para a aprendizagem. Em concordância, os professores interligam as competências de leitura e escrita, confirmando as dificuldades dos alunos. Em acréscimo, os docentes valorizam a diversificação de estratégias, como forma de motivar os alunos para a leitura e criar leitores competentes.pt
dc.description.abstractThe present study aims to find out how to motivate and develop the competence and interest in reading, in the discipline of Portuguese Language, of Angolan students in Primary Education. It also intends to investigate students´ and teachers´ perceptions on improving reading, along the learning process. The theme relates to the fact that, in Angola, most students do not have Portuguese as their mother tongue, although education is taught in Portuguese. That means many students have Portuguese as a second language, as they spoke national languages or variants. This leads students to face greater difficulties in learning, not only in the discipline of Portuguese Language, but also in all other disciplines. Qualitative and quantitative research was held in a Primary and Secondary School, in the Municipality of Belas, in Luanda, Angola. The application of two questionnaire surveys, one to nine Portuguese teachers and another to eighty students from 6th grade of Primary Education, allowed the collection and analysis of data. The results show that most students only read textbooks and that reading is not a regular practice. However, students effectively recognize the importance of reading for learning. Accordingly, teachers connect the skills of reading and writing, confirming students´ difficulties. In addition, teachers value the diversification of strategies, as a way to motivate students to read and create competent readers.en
