dc.description.abstractAtualmente o tema fotoproteção tem sido alvo de debate na área farmacêutica e na área cosmética, tendo em conta a crescente preocupação com os efeitos agudos e crónicos desencadeados pela exposição prolongada e desprotegida à radiação ultravioleta (UV). Neste contexto o uso de fotoproteção tópica, mais precisamente o uso de filtros solares, assume um papel fundamental na manutenção da saúde da pele. Com o intuito de aumentar a eficácia da ação fotoprotetora destes produtos, bem como a sua segurança e estabilidade, verifica-se a pesquisa constante de novos ingredientes com propriedades de interesse para o desenvolvimento deste tipo de formulações, tais como compostos com atividade antioxidante. Assim, no presente trabalho pretendeu-se compreender não só a relevância da proteção solar, mas também entender qual a pertinência do crescente interesse em incorporar antioxidantes em formulações solares. Nomeadamente, no que diz respeito à sua utilização na prevenção do fotoenvelhecimento e do cancro de pele, bem como para prevenir a degradação das formulações e dos seus ingredientes ativos, garantindo assim uma maior estabilidade, segurança e eficácia do protetor solar. No âmbito deste estudo, analisou-se ainda quais os antioxidantes mais utilizados nos protetores solares comercializados a nível nacional e qual o perfil geral do consumidor que procura este tipo de produtos.pt
dc.description.abstractCurrently, the photoprotection theme has been the subject of debate in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic areas, considering the worsening of concerns about the chronic effects triggered by prolonged and unprotected exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. In the context of topical photoprotection, the use of sunscreen filters, play a key role in maintaining the skin health. In order to increase the effectiveness of the photoprotective products as well as their safety and stability, there is a constant of new ingredients with properties of interest for the development of this type of formulations, such as the compound with antioxidant activity. In order to increase the effectiveness of the photoprotective products as well as their safety and stability, there is a constant of new ingredients with properties of interest for the development of this type of formulations, such as the compound with antioxidant activity. In the present work it was also intended to understand not only the relevance of sun protection, but also to understand the pertinence of the growing interest in incorporating antioxidants into solar formulations. Particularly, with regard to its use in the prevention of photoaging and skin cancer, as well as to prevent degradation of the formulations and their active ingredients, thus ensuring greater stability, safety and efficacy of the sunscreens. In the scope of this study, it was also analyzed which antioxidants are most used in sunscreens sold nationally and what is the general profile of the consumer looking for this type of products.en
