O presente estudo procura compreender e avaliar o fenómeno da violência no namoro
entre adolescentes. Pretende-se, conhecer as estratégias de resolução de conflitos
(abusivas/não abusivas) adotadas nas relações de namoro, avaliar se as estratégias de
resolução de conflitos diferem em função do sexo, avaliar as atitudes sobre a agressão física
em situações provocatórias e avaliar as atitudes sobre a agressão verbal, o controlo e o ciúme
no namoro.
Os dados para este estudo foram recolhidos nos distritos de Lisboa e Évora em
Portugal e nas ilhas de São Vicente e Santiago do arquipélago de Cabo Verde. A amostra foi
constituída por 150 adolescentes com idades compreendidas entre os 13 e os 18 anos, sendo
81 do sexo feminino e 69 do sexo masculino.
Concluiu-se que, no que respeita as estratégias de resolução de conflitos, os rapazes
utilizam maioritariamente o abuso sexual, enquanto que as raparigas apresentam índices mais
elevados de abuso verbal ou emocional. Concluiu-se também que os adolescentes do sexo
masculino, em situações provocatórias, tendem a ter maiores níveis de agressão física quando
comparados com os adolescentes do sexo feminino. Os resultados também apontam uma
relação da agressividade com os níveis de ciúmes.
This study seeks to understand and evaluate the phenomenon of dating violence among adolescents. The aim is to understand the strategies of conflict resolution (unfair / not abusive) adopted in dating relationships, evaluate the strategies of conflict resolution differ according to sex, assess attitudes about physical aggression in provocative situations and evaluate attitudes about verbal aggression, control and jealousy in dating. The data for this study were collected in the districts of Lisbon and Évora in Portugal and the islands of São Vicente and Santiago of Cape Verde. The sample consisted of 150 teenager aged between 13 and 18 years, 81 female and 69 male. It was concluded that, as regards the strategies of conflict resolution, the boys mostly use sexual abuse, while girls have higher rates of verbal or emotional abuse. It was also concluded that male teens in provocative situations, tend to have higher levels of physical aggression compared to female adolescents. The results also point to a relationship of aggression to jealousy levels.
