questionários a 25 alunos seniores.
social.
From the moment the first Senior University was established in Portugal (1978), their number never stopped growing, spreading a bit by all districts in an attempt to track an increasing number of elderly, in various disciplines. Taking as its starting point the research conducted on the teaching of information and communication technologies to senior, this dissertation had as objective to understand the perspectives, the dynamics and procedures of the main actors of a UTI (trainers, students, the Senior direction of the Senior University), having been organized throughout the study from the question that guided this research and which focused on the impact of TIC in training of older people and also if this training will help them improving their quality of life. In this context, several concepts such as aging, loneliness, active aging, lifelong learning, adult education, information society and knowledge were used. The study developed a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive characteristics TIC perspective, semi structured interviews were conducted for trainers in computer science and the director of the elected UTI, as well as inquiries to 25 senior students. The conclusion shows the diversity that University offers to its students, whose growth has been a notorious fact since its foundation (2005). Regarding the teaching of TIC, this presents as an important component to the personal development of the elderly, whose knowledge not only improve their skills to the level of computer technology, as well as their interests and relationships, contributing to their quality of life, away from the loneliness and social isolation.
