Resumo
Esta pesquisa trata da função social da escola frente à discriminação e à promoção da
igualdade dos alunos homossexuais em 09 escolas na cidade de São Luís no estado do
Maranhão, em que os sujeitos gestor, supervisor, professor, profissionais da educação
(secretário, porteiro, auxiliar de limpeza e cozinheiro), responsáveis pelo aluno e pela aluna,
descrevem sua percepção sobre a temática através dos questionários aplicados com o objetivo
de saber como a escola tem enfrentado a problemática da discriminação. Aponta-se que a
discussão sobre a sexualidade, sua diversidade e especificamente sobre a homossexualidade é
um grande desafio, revelando-se um grande tabu na escola com relação aos seguintes fatores:
religião, sexo, idade, estado civil, grau de escolaridade e papel dentro e/ou fora da escola,
denotando a necessidade de se reverem as concepções sobre a função social da escola ajustada
à prática de inclusão, devendo assim ultrapassar o discurso desassociado da práxis.
This research deals with the social function on diversity and promoting equality of gay students in 09 schools in the city of São Luís in Maranhão state school, where the subject manager, supervisor, teacher, education staff (secretary, intercom, auxiliary cleaning and cooking), responsible for the student and the student describe their perception of the issue through questionnaires in order to know how the school has faced the problem of discrimination. We realize that the discussion about sexuality, its diversity and specifically about homosexuality is a challenge revealing a big taboo in school with regard to the following factors: religion, sex, age, marital status, educational level and role within and / or out of school, denoting the need to review the concepts on the social function of the school adjusted the practice of inclusion should therefore exceed the disfellowshipped speech praxis.
