dc.description.abstractDo assentamento humano ao edifício singular, as relações entre espaço natural e forma construída observam-se em diferentes momentos da concretização arquitetónica, desde a implantação sobre o território, à organização dos espaços exteriores e interiores, à materialização construtiva. Por vezes indissociáveis, inconscientes ou projetados, concebidos por um arquiteto ou de modo menos erudito, ainda que igualmente sábio, os vínculos criados entre forma construída e natureza são a base de qualquer urbanização (em sentido lato) e um fator determinante no seu crescimento económico, social e cultural. A natureza leva a ‘vida’ às cidades, o bem-estar, a saúde, o alimento, a beleza e o lazer. Presente na vegetação, nos materiais e na topografia, na luz e na água, é um agente de transformação dos elementos arquitetónicos que a rodeiam, fundindo-se, por vezes, e originando um elemento único. Representa o motivo, o contexto, a origem e uma necessidade na conceção de forma construída. É a base do projeto, que influencia o habitar dos espaços e o modo como a arquitetura é percecionada através dos sentidos. Esta dissertação explora as relações entre espaço natural e forma construída. Para além da introdução e das considerações finais, é constituída por três partes, correspondentes a três escalas distintas, onde se exploram estas complexas relações: a aldeia de Drave, tomada no seu todo; uma parte do centro histórico de Amarante; e a Casa de Chá da Boa Nova, em Matosinhos. dc.description.abstractFrom the human settlement to the singular building, the relationships between natural space context and built form are observed at different moments of architectural achievement, from the implantation on the territory, to the organization of exterior and interior spaces, to the constructive materialization. Sometimes inseparable, unconscious or designed, conceived by an architect or in a less erudite, albeit equally wise, way, the links created between built form and nature are the basis of any urbanization (in a broad sense) and a determining factor in its economic, social and cultural growth. Nature brings 'life' into cities, well-being, health, food, beauty and leisure. Present in vegetation, materials and topography, light and water, it is an agent of transformation of the architectural elements that surround it, sometimes merging and creating a single element. It represents the motive, the context, the origin and a need in the design of built form. It is the basis of the project, which influences the inhabiting of spaces and the way in which architecture is perceived through senses. This dissertation explores the relationship between natural context and built form. In addition to the introduction and conclusions, it is inthree parts, corresponding to three different scales where these complex relationships are explored: the village of Drave, taken as a whole; a part of the historic centre of Amarante; and the Boa Nova Tea House, in Matosinhos.
