(RRSL) selecionando a base de dados eletrónica “b-On”.
Do segundo estudo e numa ótica exploratória encontramos diferenças
Background: The aim of this study is to explore the association between different motivation variables with the practice of MA&CS on the tenants of the self-determination theory. Methods: First we carried out a Quick Systematic Review of Literature (QSRL) using the database “b-On”. From the 240 articles founded we included 4 that were eligible considering all defined inclusion criteria. After this first study, we conducted an observational exploratory study including 182 MA&CS practitioners that answered to our survey to collect sociodemographic data and validated questionnaires to address the motivation variables such as motives, basic psychological needs and behavior regulation. Results: From the first article we conclude that there are few articles studying MA&CS on the scope of SDT and the few included on our revision pointed out gender, age and country differences between intrinsic and extrinsic motives to practice MA&CS. The second article shows significant differences between gender, age, training experience and type of student on the BPN and the behavior regulation of practitioners although we didn’t find any statistically significant difference on motives. Conclusions: With the QSRL we found out few studies on the SDT scope about motivation for MA&CS, although the extension of the same type studies for other sports, exercise and physical activity. This suggests the need for further investigation to explore motivation and MA&CS on the tenants of SDT. Our second article explore the motivation for MA&CS and point out relevant differences on satisfaction and frustration of BPN and also on behavior regulation.
