The subscription of the Bologna Declaration by Portugal was the first step in a vortex of changes in higher education, implying the disruption of a whole set of assumptions. These changes will ultimately affect not only the interests and values of the education system, but also those of the whole society. The study carried out aimed at checking the impact of changes generated by the Bologna Process in the teaching-learning process in a polytechnic institution. In order to achieve this goal we carried out a case study, using a triangulation method - temporal, methodological and data. The study was conducted at the School of Accounting and Administration of Porto and was developed in two phases: 1st Phase, data collection, in two consecutive years in the same group of students and teachers of the degree in Administrative Assistance and Translation; 2nd phase, extension of the study to two more courses. 206 students and 92 teachers participated in this study. The findings of this case study suggest that teachers play an important role in the change process and highlight the need for curricular reforms to be supported by the necessary material resources and sustained by the involvement of teachers and students alike.
