Resumo
Esta dissertação é um estudo em Educação tendo como objetivo a investigação do Curso de Educação Artística da Universidade Federal do Piauí, Campus Petrônio Portela em Teresina-Piauí, por meio da história de vida do Artista Professor Afrânio Pessoa Castelo Branco, nas décadas de 1980 a 2001. Neste período, o Professor Afrânio ministrou aulas nas Oficinas de Pintura I e II, Modelo Vivo, Técnicas de Expressão e Comunicação em Arte e outras disciplinas do citado curso. Para progredir na construção da dissertação, além da pesquisa bibliográfica necessária e inerente a qualquer trabalho desta natureza, foram aplicados questionários com professores do Curso de Educação Artística da UFPI, antigos alunos, hoje professores de instituições de ensino superior e antigos alunos, hoje artistas plásticos.
A trajetória de vida, primeiro do estudante, depois do Artista professor, na qual contamos sua memória e história oral: faremos um olhar à trajetória de Afrânio na sua formação para a arte e para o ensino dessa mesma arte. Recorremos a fontes tais como referências bibliográficas pertinentes à temática em estudo, bem como a questionários aplicados a antigos alunos, Coordenadores e colegas professores do Professor Artista em estudo, com isso cruzando informações a partir de entrevista concedida pelo próprio Afrânio Pessoa e pela Coordenadora atual de Artes Visuais da UFPI, Professora Doutora Pollyanna Jericó Pinto Coelho, antiga aluna do docente objeto do presente estudo.
É a partir destes testemunhos que nos foi possível obter informações que definiram como era a prática docente de Afrânio Pessoa, tanto em sala de aula, como ao ar livre. Qual a importância da metodologia por si utilizada no período que mediou entre 1980 e 2001, bem como a influência que o Artista Professor exerceu ou exerce ainda entre atuais professores de arte no Estado do Piauí.
This is a dissertation in Education, which has as its central objective research of the Art Education Course at the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI), Petrônio Portela Campus, in the city of Teresina, State of Piauí, through Professor Afrânio Pessoa Castelo Branco’s life in the years between 1980 and 2001. The mentioned was a period in which Afrânio taught Painting Workshops I and II, Live Model, Techniques of Expression and Art, among other subjects of the referred to course. To progress in the construction of the dissertation, in addition to literary research necessary and inherent to any work of the nature of the one at hand, questionnaires were applied with teachers of the Art Education Course at UFPI, former students, now teachers of faculties in the mentioned city and also artists. The trajectory of life first of the student, then Art Teacher, in which we shall present memories and oral history: Afrânio’s life trajectory and his education in art. Afrânio and his passageways to art and to teaching. Other sources such as bibliographic references pertinent to the theme studied, as well as questionnaires used with former students, Coordinators and teachers, colleagues of the Art professor and we crossed information with the answers given by Afrânio Pessoa in an interview he conceded, as did the Presnt Coordinator of the Visual Arts Course at UFPI, Lady Professor Pollyanna Jericó Pinto Coelho, she also a former student of Professor Afânio Pessoa. It is from these testimonies that we obtained information that defined how Afrânio’s teaching practice occurred, both in the classroom as outdoors. How importan the methodology he used was in the period between 1980 and 2001, as well as what influence this Art Professor exercised or exercises still among art teachers today in the state of Piaui.
