Reaprender a confiar : o perfil de competências do assistente social em contexto de acolhimento residencial

Os profissionais que trabalham na área da infância e juventude, mais especificamente no acolhimento residencial, devem reger-se por um conjunto de boas práticas, sendo estas essenciais porque o trabalho desenvolvido com esta população exige além da formação base, uma especialização e contínua na área. Da pesquisa efetuada não existe uma identificação, nem nacional nem internacionalmente, das competências que devem reger a sua formação/intervenção.
O universo da investigação são os especialistas assistentes sociais que intervêm com crianças e jovens com medida de acolhimento residencial em Portugal, quer continental quer arquipélagos. A amostra é de 37 especialistas, licenciados em Serviço Social. Foram definidos como objetivos conhecer as competências que se conferem como necessárias aos assistentes sociais para a intervenção com crianças e jovens com medida de acolhimento residencial de acordo com as categorias (os saberes; os saberes-fazer e os saberes ser/agir) do modelo teórico de Le Boterf (2003).
Foi utilizada a metodologia quali-quantitativa recorrendo ao método Delphi. Com a análise de conteúdos e dos dados estatísticos recolhidos nos inquéritos por questionário, delimitou-se, após um grau de concordância entre os especialistas, um perfil final de competências necessárias ao assistente social para realizar uma intervenção eficiente com as crianças e jovens com medida de acolhimento residencial.
The professionals working in the field of children and youth, more specifically in residential care, must be guided by a set of good practices, which are essential because the work carried out with this population requires not only basic training, but also a specialization and continuous training in the area. From the research carried out there is no identification, either nationally or internationally, of the skills that should govern their training/intervention. The research universe is the social workers specialists who work with children and young people in residential care in Portugal, both continental and archipelagos. The sample is made up of 37 specialists, graduated in Social Work. The objectives were defined as knowing the skills that are necessary for social workers to intervene with children and young people with a residential care measure according to the categories (the know how; the know to do and the know how to be/ to act) of the theoretical model of Le Boterf (2003). The quali-quantitative methodology was used using the Delphi method. With the analysis of contents and statistical information collected in the questionnaire surveys, it was delimited, after a degree of agreement between specialists, a final profile of skills required by the social worker to carry out an efficient intervention with children and young people with a residential care measure.
