Resumo
Este trabalho surge no âmbito do Mestrado de Ensino de Artes Visuais no 3º Ciclo do
Ensino Básico e no Ensino Secundário e compreende a investigação empírica, utilizando
fortalecendo a capacidade criativa e a expressão individual, a nível cognitivo, expressivo e
afetivo.
caracterizava as turmas.
This work arises within the scope of the Master of Teaching of Visual Arts in the 3rd Cycle of Basic Education and in Secondary Education and comprises empirical research, using as methodology the process of research-action in Supervised Teaching Practice (internship), developed at Escola Dr º Azevedo Neves, in the parish of Águas Livres - Amadora, in the discipline of Visual Education (EV) with the 7th grade classes. The visual arts encourage the discovery and construction of personal identity, strengthening the creative capacity and individual expression, at the cognitive, expressive and affective level. This research aimed to deepen the benefits of teaching visual arts in developing students' awareness of their identity search in a specific multicultural environment. I was motivated by the observations made in the classroom and synchronous classes due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the demotivation of students by the arts and where I was confronted with a multicultural school population and with numerous difficulties, both cognitive and socioeconomic, in addition to the devaluation of educational community. Regarding the results obtained in this study, using an action-research methodology and resulting from the proposed activities, the monitoring of classes and student inquiries, there was a great evolution of what initially characterized the classes. The students revealed themselves over time to be more motivated, participative, with a clear evolution of the quality of their work and above all, with a different and positive vision of the visual arts.
