vida, principalmente a ação comprometida.
Research shows that psychopathological symptoms affect a significant part of the population, especially the population with chronic illness. The literature suggest that psychological flexibility is associated with good mental health indicators. However, more research is needed to better understand the processes underlying the PF model in understanding psychopathology and quality of life, especially compromised action. The present study aimed to understand if the level of commitment to valued action differs between the samples (general population and population with chronic disease), to understand if there are differences regarding psychopathological symptomatology and PF in different populations and if in these populations there are associations regarding psychopathological symptomatology and psychological flexibility. This study consists of a sample of 94 people, aged between 20 and 65 years old. Of these, 31 had chronic conditions and 63 were individuals without chronic health conditions. The sample was collected previously in the context of a broader study. The following assessment tools were used: Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale, Committed Action Questionnaire and Comprehensive Assessment of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Processes (CompACT) Comprehensive Assessment Scale for the Processes of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. The results obtained showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the samples with and without chronic disease in terms of psychopathological symptoms, commitment to valued action and psychological flexibility. However, there was a statistically significant association between psychological flexibility (behavioral awareness and openness to experience) and psychopathological symptomatology (anxiety and stress) in the sample with chronic illness
