Utilizaram-se: questionário sociodemográfico, Intimate Partner Violence Check List (IPV-M), Intimate Partner Violence and Traumatic Affect Scale (VITA), State Shame and Guilt Scale (SSGS), Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scales -21 (DASS-21), Personal Feelings Questionnaire - 2 (PFQ-2) e o Early Life Experiences (ELES).
Intimate partner violence (IPV) is a serious global public health problem. This study sought to characterize victims of IPV by comparing them with individuals without IPV in relation to the evocation of memories of threat and subordination experienced during childhood/adolescence, propensity to feel shame and guilt and psychopathological symptoms; explore, in IPV victims, the association of memories of threat and subordination with the aforementioned variables; explore the relationship between types of violence (psychological, physical, sexual, economic and stalking) with other variables. The following were used: sociodemographic questionnaire, Intimate Partner Violence Check List (IPV-M), Intimate Partner Violence and Traumatic Affect Scale (VITA), State Shame and Guilt Scale (SSGS), Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scales -21 (DASS-21), Questionnaire of Personal Feelings – 2 (PFQ-2) and Early Life Experiences (ELES). Significant differences were found between the two samples of individuals, although there were no statistical differences in the propensity for emotions guilt and shame and in stress symptomatology. An association was found, in the sample of VRI victims, between memories of subordination and threat with the other study variables. And it was found that there is no relationship between current states of guilt and physical and economic violence and between economic violence and symptoms of anxiety and stress.
