Impacto do stress interno e externo na vivência da conjugalidade

A literatura sobre a conjugalidade sugere que os casais estão sujeitos a inúmeros fatores que
afetam o seu relacionamento conjugal. O presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar o impacto do
stresse externo no stresse interno e comparar o impacto de diferentes tipos de stresse: na satisfação
conjugal; na valorização do relacionamento; nos padrões de comunicação e na sobrecarga de
stresse. Participaram 92 indivíduos com idades entre 18 e 49 anos, que responderam a um conjunto
de questionários numa plataforma online e presencialmente em papel. O stresse externo foi preditor
do aumento do stresse interno. O stresse interno foi preditor da diminuição da satisfação conjugal
e dos sentimentos de valorização e de ser valorizado pelo parceiro, bem como da adoção de padrões
de comunicação negativos. E ainda, a idade foi preditora negativa da satisfação conjugal e dos
sentimentos de valorização e de ser valorizado pelo parceiro. O presente estudo contribui para o
desenvolvimento de planos de intervenção mais eficazes, nomeadamente o treino de estratégias de
coping individual e diádico com o objetivo de prevenir ou a minimizar o impacto do stresse no
relacionamento conjugal.
The literature on marital relationships suggests that couples are subject to the numerous factors that affect their marital relationship. The present study aimed to assess the impact of external stress on internal stress and compare the impact of different types of stress: on marital satisfaction; relationship appreciation; communication patterns and stress overload. Participants were 92 individuals aged between 18 and 49 years, who answered a set of questionnaires on an online platform and in paper. External stress was a predictor of increased internal stress. Internal stress was a predictor of a decreased in marital satisfaction, feelings of appreciation, being valued by the partner and the adoption of negative communication patterns. Furthermore, age was a negative predictor of marital satisfaction, feelings of appreciation and being appreciated by the partner. The present study contributes to the development of more effective intervention plans, namely, the training of individual and dyadic coping strategies in order to prevent or minimize the impact of stress on the marital relationship.
