Educação ambiental e sustentabilidade: estudo sobre as concepções dos docentes e discentes do ensino superior em direito

O presente trabalho teve o objetivo de realizar um estudo do modo como a Educação Ambiental vem sendo trabalhada no ensino superior, no curso de direito das Instituições de Ensino Superior do Rio Grande do Norte. O estudo sobre as práticas de Educação Ambiental no ensino superior é pertinente por se tratar de um parâmetro curricular recente, desenvolvido muitas vezes de forma superficial e isolada. A pesquisa procurou identificar as concepções de Educação Ambiental dos professores, relacionando com o entendimento dos alunos acerca da EA obtido atrvés dos questionários aplicados. Levantou informações baseadas em entrevistas com professores de disciplinas que possuem na sua ementa relação com a temática ambiental, bem como com aplicação de questionários aos alunos do curso de direito, procurando identificar o modo de abordagem da educação ambiental nos conteúdos ministrados.
A metodologia da pesquisa recorre a uma abordagem mista, qualitativa e quantitativa. Foram realizadas entrevistas junto aos professores das disciplinas de direito ambiental, direito agrário e ética, de quatro IES situadas no Rio Grande do Norte. Complementando a pesquisa, utilizamos ainda elementos da pesquisa quantitativa, aplicando questionários junto aos alunos do curso de direito, especificamente aos alunos concluintes.
Os resultados apontam que a temática da Educação Ambiental no âmbito da sustentabilidade é pouco presente na prática quotidiana do ensino superior em direito, sendo notório que a temática não está devidamente incorporada nos processos de formação dos professores. Além disso, observamos como agravantes a necessidade de aprofundamento da temática referida pelos alunos, diante da declarada importância que estes conferem ao tema.
Pôde-se constatar que a Educação Ambiental não vem sendo devidamente inserida no ambiente acadêmico do ensino superior em direito, sendo notada sua presença de maneira superficial, isolada, sem planejamento, contribuindo pouco para a formação do aluno do curso de direito.
The present work had the objective to carry out a study of the way Environmental Education has been worked in higher education, in the law course of Higher Education Institutions of Rio Grande do Norte. The study on Environmental Education practices in higher education is pertinent because it is a recent curricular parameter, often developed in a superficial and isolated way. The research sought to identify the conceptions of Environmental Education of the teachers, relating to the students' understanding of the EE obtained through the questionnaires applied. It gathered information based on interviews with professors of disciplines that have in their menu related to the environmental theme, as well as with questionnaires to students of the course of law, trying to identify the way of approaching environmental education in the contents taught. The methodology of the research uses a mixed, qualitative and quantitative approach. Interviews were conducted with the professors of the disciplines of environmental law, agrarian law and ethics, of four HEIs located in Rio Grande do Norte. Complementing the research, we also used elements of the quantitative research, applying questionnaires to the students of the course of law, specifically to the final students. The results point out that the theme of Environmental Education in the area of sustainability is little present in the daily practice of higher education in law, being notorious that the thematic is not properly incorporated in the processes of teacher training. In addition, we note as aggravating the need to deepen the subject referred by the students, given the importance they confer to the theme. It could be verified that Environmental Education has not been properly inserted in the academic environment of higher education in law, being noticed its presence in a superficial way, isolated, without planning, contributing little to the formation of the student of the course of law.
