Resumo
Este trabalho abre a apresentação de um projeto editorial especialmente empenhado
em facultar a listagem da documentação portuguesa gerada pela Nunciatura de
Lisboa e existente no Arquivo do Vaticano. A pertinência desta documentação histórica, para o estudo das relações entre o poder político e o poder religioso, e
o processo de expansão do cristianismo, a nível global, é apresentada aqui, juntamente com uma sinopse histórica de todo o arquivo – conjunto de documentos
este que permanece no imaginário coletivo como um dos mais secretos de todo o
mundo.
This paper opens the presentation of a major editorial project consacrated to the listing of the Portuguese documentation relative to the Nunciature of Lisbon in the Vatican Archives. The pertinence of this historical documentation for the study of the relations between the political power and the religious power and the process of expansion of Christianity at the global level is presented here together with a historical synopsis of the whole Archive - a set of documents that remains in the collective imagery as one of the most secret in the entire world.
