dc.description.abstractA presente dissertação é um estudo da Arquitectura Mínima e o seu desenvolvimento. É feita uma breve análise do Congresso Internacional da Arquitectura Moderna, focando o Existenzminimum e o método de valorização de plantas de Alexander Klein. Numa análise mais profunda da Arquitectura Mínima foi feita uma classificação das várias vertentes desta, e com isso, surge o tema Cidade, e como o seu desenvolvimento afastou a classe trabalhadora para fora dos seus limites e que soluções foram aplicadas para resolver este problema. Nos Estudos de Caso percebemos que a habitação de dimensões reduzidas implementadas na cidade funcionam quando esta oferece aquilo que a habitação não tem, como uma sala, um jardim ou um espaço de lazer, mas como uso permanente este tipo de habitação não consegue seguir a evolução dos seus habitantes. Encontramos também uma Questão Sociológica, a Segregação Social e como esta influencia a cidade. Na análise da obra de Zygmunt Bauman “Confiança e Medo na Cidade” percebemos que para eliminar essa segregação social e dar vida à cidade precisamos de dois elementos: Espaço Público e trazer para a cidade as pessoas que trabalham e estudam nela.pt
dc.description.abstractThis dissertation is a study of Minimal Architecture and its development. It is engaged in a brief analysis of the International Congress of Modern Architecture, focusing on the Existenzminimum and Alexander Klein's method of plant valorization. In a deeper analysis of the Minimum Architecture, a classification of the its various aspects has been made, and with this, the theme City issue, and how its development pushed the working class out of its limits and some of the solutions that were employed to solve this problem. In the Case Studies we realize that small-scale housing implemented in the city works when the city offers what the housing does not, such as a living room, a garden or a leisure space, as far as permanent use this type of housing cannot follow the evolution of its inhabitants. We also find a Sociological Question, Social Segregation and how this influences the city. In the analysis of the Zygmunt Bauman’s book “Trust and Fear in the City” we realize that in order to eliminate this social segregation and give life to the city we need two elements: Public Space and to bring back to the city the people who work and study in iten
