Resumo
A mucormicose caracteriza-se por uma infeção fúngica cujos agentes patogénicos têm um rápido crescimento e uma patogenicidade bastante acentuada, causando uma elevada taxa de mortalidade. Por este motivo, torna-se crucial conhecer as diversas características relacionadas com esta patologia.
Conhecer a taxonomia, patogénese e a resposta imunitária pode ajudar a determinar qual a melhor terapêutica, apesar de ser cada vez mais difícil, uma vez que, esta infecção fúngica assenta sobretudo em indivíduos cuja imunidade já se encontra bastante compremetida.
Devido à heterogeneidade e às diversas formas clínicas que a doença apresenta, a terapêutica apresenta uma enorme dificuldade, onde o seu diagnóstico torna-se extremamente importante.
Esta dissertação, tem como base em reunir dados epidemiológicos e clínicos acerca deste tipo de micoses, com base nos fatores de risco, nas novas opções e esquemas terapêuticos realçando esta problemática na saúde pública e a nível clínico, uma vez que, apresenta uma elevada taxa de mortalidade.
O mundo tem estado em constante desenvolvimento e área da saúde não é uma exepção, por este motivo, conclui-se que é bastante importante termos um conhecimento profundo acerca deste tipo de patologias, com o intuito de desenvolvermos novas estratégias de prevenção e de terapêutica.
Mucormycosis is characterized by a fungal infection whose pathogens are fast-growing and highly pathogenic, causing a high mortality rate. For this reason, it is crucial to know the different characteristics related to this pathology. Knowing the taxonomy, pathogenesis and immune response can help to determine the best therapy, although it is increasingly difficult, since this fungal infection is mainly based on individuals whose immunity is already quite compromised. Due to the heterogeneity and the different clinical forms that the disease presents, the therapy presents an enormous difficulty, where its diagnosis becomes extremely important. This dissertation is based on gathering epidemiological and clinical data about this type of mycoses, based on risk factors, new options and therapeutic schemes highlighting this problem in public health and at the clinical level, since it presents a high rate of mortality. The world has been in constant development and the health area is no exception, for this reason, it is very important to have a deep knowledge about this type of pathologies, in order to develop new prevention and therapeutic strategies.
