It's no longer strange the word globalization, despite often being used incorrectly, it justifies the speed to which the economy evolves today, making it possible to bring change in a short period of time and crucially determine fate for each individual and the whole society itself. Fact is that the velocity reached by communication exchange and technological innovation has launched changes in several domains, the economy, the environment and in the society, turning constant the challenges the world faces nowadays. The educational community has also to take the challenge of constant innovation in preparing increasingly able and capable citizens to succeed in a never as demanding world in which someone's qualifications are not satisfiable enough, without certain competences. The following essay focuses a learning experience applied to a portuguese vocational school in commerce, in which several skills coming from different areas of knowledge, yet transversal in their applicability towards real-life situations, are being developed by conducting an interdisciplinary project. The seeking quest for teaching strategies that develop meaningful and motivating apprenticeships, led to the choice of problem-based learning (PBL). The results shown for this educational environment, to what the methodology tested is concerned, are indeed very positive, with regard to the development of meaningful learning towards future activities as sales managers and as well to the high rates of satisfaction in between students while performing the activities.
