Resumo
O objetivo do presente artigo é apresentar um método de tomada de notas para Interpretação Consecutiva
que tenho vindo a estabelecer ao longo da prática e da experiência didáctica, como ferramenta
de trabalho para o Intérprete de Conferência.
Este método esquemático baseia-se na distribuição em três colunas das notas tomadas a partir de
um discurso oral, podendo potencializar os resultados da Interpretação. Auxilia o intérprete a concentrar
a sua atenção na exegese do discurso proferido pelo orador, reduzindo-o a uma sequência
lógica de elementos cognitivos, aumentando dessa forma a sua capacidade de memorização através
de associações de ideias principais em cada unidade de sentido e facilitando a sua estruturação no
novo discurso a criar pelo intérprete, com base em idênticos elementos cognitivos.
The aim of this paper is to offer a method for note-taking in consecutive interpretation. Although it contributes to an improvement of the techniques it also promotes a faster and more accurate performance of the Conference Interpreter. I have developed this method throughout the interpreting practice in real situations as well as in the training of young interpreters. It is suggested that this Three Column Methodology schematic may contribute towards an improved concentration in the exegesis of the speaker’s speech by breaking it down into cognitive elements. This increases the capacity for memorization through more direct connotations with the main ideas in each sense of unity. It also results in a better structure for the new discourse to be composed by the interpreter, since it will be based on identical cognitive elements organised in the three columns. This allows for complete freedom as far as the structure of the target language is concerned and avoids transcription.
