A raça/ etnia e a

Adverse childhod experiences are negative and traumatic events that occur in childhood. These are common and interrelated, being prevalent in 20% to 50% of the adult population. Intersectionality argues that these experiences are shaped by individual characteristics, who interact with each other, and should be analyzed dependently and with this theory. However, the literature that uses it dismisses the relationship between these characteristics (e.g., race/ethnicity and gender). That said, the objective of this scoping review is to understand how this perspective is applied to the study of adverse childhod experiences. The PRISMA-P model was followed, keywords were searched in four databases, resulting in the inclusion of 21 articles. It was found that every study made explicit mention of the theory of intersectionality, but only twelve fully applied it. Race/ethnicity and sexual orientation were the most analyzed intersectionality variables. The most observed intersection was sexual orientation x race/ethnicity and the most studied adverse childhod experiences were bullying and sexual abuse/violence. It was concluded that there is indeed a shortage of articles that incorporate intersectionality in the study of adverse childhod experiences. However, those that do exist represent an advance in the quantitative investigation of this topic. Keywords: Adverse Childhood Experiences; Victimization; Vulnerability; Intersectionality
