Resumo
Os estudos sugerem que a atuação dos líderes pode ter influência no desempenho e na qualidade das organizações. A liderança na escola é fundamental na motivação, na
melhoria dos resultados e na qualidade da educação, deixando de ser responsabilidade
individual e passando a ser um processo partilhado, centrado na aprendizagem.
A melhoria da qualidade do ensino implica o desenvolvimento de práticas
pedagógicas diferenciadas, respeitando a diversidade e as necessidades individuais, o que
remete para o conceito de equidade. O grande desafio é criar condições para garantir a todos a aquisição de conhecimentos imprescindíveis à integração social, desenvolvendo a
capacidade de aprender a aprender.
Partindo da questão “As práticas de liderança no agrupamento XXX favorecem a
equidade e a aprendizagem? “ pretende-se verificar se existem práticas de liderança
orientadas para a equidade e a aprendizagem.
Para a concretização do objetivo do estudo optou-se por um estudo de caso, de
natureza mista, combinando análise qualitativa e quantitativa, num agrupamento de escolas da região de Lisboa.
A análise dos dados recolhidos, através de questionários e de entrevista, permitenos
concluir que as práticas de liderança do agrupamento XXX favorecem a equidade e a
aprendizagem.
Studies suggest that the action of leaders may have an influence on the performance and the quality of organizations. Leadership in a school is essential for the motivation, the improvement of success and the quality of education. It is, thus, no longer an individual responsibility but becomes a shared learner-centered process. The improvement of teaching quality entails the development of differentiated teaching practices, respecting individual diversity and needs, which leads to the concept of equity in education. The great challenge is to create the necessary conditions to assure that all learners will acquire the knowledge and skills indispensable to social integration by developing learning-to-learn ability. Starting from the research question “Do leadership practices in a specific school group enhance equity and learning?”, the purpose is to check the existence of leadership practices that may promote equity and learning. To pursue the aim of the present study, a case study was selected which combines both quantity and quality analysis in a cluster of schools in the region of Lisbon. The analysis of the data collected from questionnaires and interviews makes it possible to conclude that the leadership practices used in the cluster of schools under study promote equity and learning.
