Em Portugal, assistiu-se no ano letivo 2004/2005 a uma reestruturação do ensino profissional. Este estudo tem como objetivo perceber as perceções dos alunos e dos docentes relativamente ao ensino profissional.
Para o efeito, elaborou-se um estudo descritivo de natureza mista. Os dados foram recolhidos através do inquérito por questionários aos alunos do ensino profissional e CEF e a entrevista a docentes do mesmo tipo de ensino. Foram inquiridos um total de 56 alunos, 44 do ensino profissional do 10º,11º e 12º ano e os restantes 12 do ensino CEF do 7º,8º e 9º ano, no que se refere as entrevistas estas foram aplicadas a dois docentes do ensino profissional e a dois do ensino CEF.
Concluiu-se que os alunos de ambos os tipo de ensino profissional, assim como os docentes entrevistados possuem uma visão e opinião positiva em relação ao ensino profissional. Os alunos inquiridos, na sua maioria, sentem-se realizados com o curso que frequentam e pretendem após o seu términus ingressar o mercado de trabalho. Destaca-se o facto de este tipo de ensino permitir a muitos jovens finalizar os seus estudos, aumentando, assim, a sua qualificação e capacidade de integrar o mercado de trabalho.
In Portugal, in the 2004/2005 academic year we witnessed a restructuring of the professional education. This study aims to understand the perceptions of students and teachers in relation to the professional education. For this purpose, a descriptive study of a mixed nature was elaborated. Data were collected through questionnaire surveys from vocational and CEF students and interviews with teachers in the same type of education. A total of 56 students were surveyed, 44 from the vocational education in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades and the remaining 12 from the CEF education in the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades. Regarding the interviews, these were applied to two professors from professional education and two from CEF education. It was concluded that students from both types of professional education, as well as the teachers interviewed, have a positive view and opinion regarding professional education. The students surveyed, for the most part, feel fulfilled with the course they are attending and intend to enter the job market after its completion. It should be noted that this type of education allows many young people to complete their studies, thus increasing their qualifications and ability to integrate the labor market.
