As dificuldades de comunicação entre surdos e ouvintes : propostas de soluções

A Língua Gestual Portuguesa (LGP) é a língua natural dos surdos
portugueses e a Língua Portuguesa passa a ser a segunda língua,
essencialmente na sua versão escrita, uma vez que muitos destes alunos não têm nenhuma proficiência na língua oral da comunidade
que os envolve. Devido ao facto de não possuírem acesso tão rápido às
informações como os ouvintes, este grupo necessita de um meio escrito
ou gestual - visual para receber qualquer tipo de informação. Esta
população encontra-se privada não só da audição como da comunicação com a maioria dos ouvintes, visto estes não terem, regra geral, qualquer conhecimento de Língua Gestual. Constata-se que há,
indubitavelmente, uma barreira comunicativa entre estes dois grupos,
na medida em que os ouvintes interagem com os ouvintes e os surdos com os surdos. Com o estudo apresentado, pretende-se desenvolver um
projeto, cujo objetivo será promover a comunicação e interação social
entre jovens surdos e jovens ouvintes. Assim sendo, o estudo baseou-se
em dados recolhidos através de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, que
posteriormente foi tratada através do método dedutivo-indutivo.
Procedeu-se ainda a uma entrevista a professores de uma turma de alunos surdos e alunos ouvintes e, posteriormente, à análise de
conteúdo das entrevistas realizadas bem como à interpretação dos
resultados.
Portuguese Sign Language is the deaf native language in Portugal, which means that the Portuguese Language, in its written expression, becomes, to Portuguese deaf, the second language, taking in account that a lot of deaf students demonstrate that they have no proficiency in oral expression, when trying to communicate with the roundabout society. Due to the fact that they don’t have such a quicker access to information as listeners, this group of people needs a written process, or sign-visual, to receive any kind of information. This means that they are not only unable to hear but also to communicate with the majority of listeners, taking in account that these last ones don’t have, generally, any knowledge about Sign Language. We must ascertain that there is, undoubtedly, a communicational obstacle among these two groups of people, in a way that listeners only interact with listeners, such as deaf only with deaf. Developing a project is what’s here actually proposed, with the aim of encouraging communication and social interaction among young deaf and young listeners. So, this study is based on data gathered from a bibliographical search, later worked in a deductiveinductive way. An interview to teachers in a class of both deaf and listening students was also made, and after that a content analysis of all the interviews has taken place, as well as an analysis of the whole results.
