Resumo
O objetivo deste trabalho baseia-se na importância crucial dos dispositivos médicos no diagnóstico, controlo e tratamento da Diabetes Mellitus, uma das patologias crónicas com maior prevalência no nosso país.
Consiste na identificação dos fatores que podem influenciar o mau uso e os maus resultados com a sua utilização.
Inclui uma revisão da legislação dos Dispositivos Médicos, através dos novos Regulamentos Comunitários, no pré e pós mercado e de que forma essa nova legislação contribui para aumentar a segurança da utilização dos mesmos, garantindo a sua qualidade, segurança e desempenho na perspetiva dos ganhos em saúde.
Através de casos que vivenciei na prática em farmácia comunitária, constato que são demasiado evidentes as enormes deficiências em literacia em saúde da nossa população.
É por isso que abordar o problema da literacia e fazer propostas de melhoria constituiu um desafio e que em meu entender, vem complementar as melhorias a introduzir com a nova regulamentação em curso.
The main objective of this project is to state the crucial importance of medical devices in diagnosis, control and treatment of Diabetes Mellitus, one of the most common chronical pathologies in our country. It consists on the identification of the main factors that may interfere with its use and its good outcome. A revision of the Medical Devises legislation, according to the new Regulation of the European parliament and of the council on medical devices, the pre and post market status and how that new legislation contributed to increase use security by maintaining its quality, safety and performance regarding its accomplishments in health, is included. In some cases that I experienced while working in the community pharmaceutical area, it was possible for me to observe the huge and evident health illiteracy of our population.Thus, dealing with the illiteracy and suggesting improvements will be a challenge and this solution, in my opinion, would complement the already proposed improvements by the new regulation set.
