Recognizing the importance of research and teacher action as a contribution to the student's cognitive and social development, this research focuses on some teaching learning objectives, seeking to intervene through project work, using the promotion of Art and Heritage. In this context, a project was developed with the aim of strengthening the relationship between students and Art and Heritage, in view of the problem of the feeling of disbelief, disinterest, lack of motivation and apparent apathy and lack of knowledge regarding traditional and cultural aspects. . The action takes place in the discipline of Visual Education (VS) of a class of the 9th year of schooling, from Escola Básica e Secundária de Santa Cruz. In the Visual Education class practice, a strategy was adopted that was based on exploring the theme of Cultural Heritage of Portugal in general and in particular of the Cultural Heritage of Madeira Island, with the experimentation of the contents of the discipline program in different phases, making use of of artistic practices. The methodology used was of a design nature and was characterized by being objective, phased and linear, starting from a problem (Project), ending in a solution (Final Product), after completing several steps. An action-research process was adopted, completing a cycle of carrying out the project: an attempt was made to increase students' motivation, foster creativity, and make teachers and students interact and strengthen relationships.
