Motivação dos estudantes e professores no espaço escolar

Abstract

A motivação no contexto escolar é um tema atual discutido na educação em diferentes espaços culturais. Esse trabalho apresenta o construto motivação à luz da Teoria da Autodeterminação(Ryan & Deci, 1981)em relaçãoà motivação dos alunos. Referindo-se a motivação do professor, nos fundamentamos na teoria de Huberman(1992)e nas teorias da motivação com base em Marlow(1954), Herzberg(1959)e McGregor(1960). A pesquisa foi realizada com os alunos e professores de duas escolas públicas municipais da cidade do Recife-PE, do 5º ano do Ensino Fundamental. A investigação utilizada foi qualitativa e quantitativa. O presente estudo, pensado a partir da análise destes dados, evidenciaram que a maioria dos alunos entrevistados se revelou motivados intrinsecamente para aprender. Quanto às professoras entrevistadas, evidenciou-se o construto motivação para ensinar, mediante ao compromisso com a aprendizagem do aluno, acreditando-se que com a educação conseguimos influenciar naformação do cidadão, mesmo diante de toda problemática e falta de investimento por parte dos governantes.

Motivation in the school context is a current topic discussed in education in different cultural spaces. This research presents the motivational construct in the light of Self-Determination Theory(Ryan & Deci, 1981)about student motivation. Regarding to the teacher motivation, this study had Huberman theory and theories of motivation based in Marlow(1954), Herzberg(1959) and McGregor (1960) as its main scientific supports. The survey was conducted with students of the 5thgrade of elementary school and their teachers in two public schools of Recife city, Pernambuco State. The research employed both qualitative and quantitative criteria. From the analysis of data, this study presented that most students interviewed proved to be intrinsically motivated to learn. As for the teachers interviewed, there was the presence of the motivation construct to give classes ensured by the commitment with the student learning. In conclusion, from school education, teachers are able to influence the formation of citizens even in the face of several problems and the lack of governmental investments.
