Resumo
Esta dissertação apresenta um estudo centrado nos fatores de (In)Satisfação dos professores de História e Geografia.
O trabalho que agora se apresenta tem o intuito de procurar encontrar as razões e as fontes de (In)Satisfação, através de Inquérito aos professores de História e Geografia. Fatores que sentimos que existem nas nossas escolas, colegas satisfeitos, e outros insatisfeitos com a sua profissão.
Quisemos conhecer as razões desse estado de espírito.
Numa vertente mais teórica, que abordará as questões relacionadas com a satisfação laboral, dando a conhecer os diferentes modelos e teorias relacionadas com o contentamento profissional.
A definição da problemática surge-nos de um interesse pessoal, claro e orientado para um motivo bastante atual, com que os docentes de História e Geografia se vêem confrontados diariamente: os fatores e variáveis que ditam e influenciam a identidade e a (In)Satisfação profissional.
O estudo planeado tem em vista a concretização dos seguintes objetivos:
a) Analisar o grau de satisfação dos professores de História e Geografia face à profissão;
b) Identificar a variabilidade do grau de satisfação dos professores em função do sexo, da situação profissional, dos vários níveis de tempo de serviço, da distância casa-escola.
Tendo por objetivo central a análise sobre a identidade docente, fatores de (In)Satisfação docente e a reação dos docentes perante a alteração ao Estatuto da Carreira Docente, este estudo pretendeu contribuir para que se possa descobrir quais são os fatores de (In)Satisfação Docente na Escola de Hoje, fazendo uma recolha de opiniões de Professores.
This dissertation presents us a study focused on the factors of (Dis)Satisfaction of History and Geography teachers. The work presented now has the purpose of searching for reasons and sources of (Dis)Satisfaction, through surveys made to History and Geography teachers. We feel that in our schools there are satisfied teachers with their career and unsatisfied ones. We wanted to know the reasons of that state of mind. In a more theoretical way that will approach the issues connected with work satisfaction, we will show the different models and theories related with professional gratification. The problematic definition comes to our attention from a personal and clear point of view, oriented to a quite current motive with which History and Geography teachers have to cope on a daily basis: the factors and variables that influence the identity of professional (Dis)Satisfaction. The planned study wants to achieve the following results: a) To analyse the degree of satisfaction of History and Geography teachers concerning their career; b) To identify the variation of the degree of satisfaction of teachers according to gender, professional position, several levels of service time and distance home-school. The main purpose of this study is the analysis of teacher identity, factors of teacher (Dis)Satisfaction and the reaction of teachers towards the alteration of Teacher’s Career Statute. The present study aims to contribute to the discovery of the (Dis)Satisfaction of teachers in the school of today, making a collection of teachers’ opinions.
