In order to attend the curricular unit related to the supervised practice of the Master of Arts Teaching in the 3rd and Secondary Arts, we were offered an internship at the Rainha D. Leonor Secondary School in Lisbon. In the course of the observed classes, we came across issues related to students' motivation, among others, in which we decided to intervene by teaching content that was close and current to them. We counted on the active role of contemporary arts in building citizenship to achieve that purpose. In view of the needs found and in view of the importance of the role of the teacher-researcher, we proposed to introduce contemporary art in the classroom as the main element based on a design methodology. The intervention was outlined and planned taking into account the classes attended and the deadline given to us, for this we chose art site, in site specific order, which, due to its peculiar characteristics, we believe will meet the needs of the class. As a methodology we adopted action research, an enriching process by which we collect a set of information that would not otherwise be possible and to which we completed a cycle. Being an essentially project type of art, the site-specific was enriched with work units based on pedagogical models that support this type of practice and that contributed to the final result of each installation. Seven site-specific’s, corresponding to seven work groups, were installed in the school perimeter, two abroad and five inside, one of them imminently of performance, the rest of installation. The themes of the installations were mostly environmental, with the rest derived from socially fracturing issues. students held two exhibitions, the first related to environmental themes and the second at the end of the year, in which they exposed their main works in the field of arts.
