Los desafíos de la educación superior en África frente a los cambios en la práctica farmacéutica : reflexiones desde el contexto lusófono

Resumo
O ensino superior em África enfrenta os desafios de contribuir para o desenvolvimento sustentável e alcançar os mais elevados padrões de qualidade de vida e desenvolvimento humano das suas populações. Este artigo visa identificar algumas das razões subjacentes à necessidade de melhorar a educação farmacêutica nas universidades africanas, analisando documentos nacionais e internacionais, normas legais e projetos curriculares centrados no contexto luso-africano. Descreve os currículos de farmácia de Angola e Cabo Verde e o desequilíbrio no desenvolvimento do ensino superior em África entre os blocos anglófono, francófono e lusófono. A educação farmacêutica no contexto universitário africano deve enfrentar o desafio de financiamento, acreditação de qualidade e harmonização dos currículos, a fim de formar um farmacêutico capaz de fornecer serviços farmacêuticos centrados no doente.
Higher education in Africa faces the challenges of contributing to sustainable development and achieving the highest levels of quality of life and human development of its populations. This article aims to identify some foundation supporting the need to improve pharmacy education in African universities based on the analysis of national and international documents, legal norms and curricular projects focused on the Portuguese African context. The pharmacy curricula of Angola and Cape Verde and the imbalance higher education development between the Anglophone, Francophone and Lusophone blocks are outlined. Pharmacy education in the African university concert should face the challenge of financing, quality accreditation and harmonization of its curriculum since reflection and cooperation to perform a pharmacist capable to provide patient-centered care pharmaceutical services.
