dc.description.abstractO principal intuito deste estudo foi averiguar o impacto que o Ensino tem nos alunos de medicina veterinária ao longo do curso e verificar se variáveis como sexo, local de infância, ter ou não ter animais interfere ou não na posição ética do aluno. Para isso, foi realizado um questionário que foi preenchido por alunos do 1º ao 5º ano do curso de Medicina Veterinária da Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologia, sendo que o 2º, 3º e 4º ano são grupos de controlo. Os questionários foram realizados em duas fases distintas. Uma no final do primeiro semestre e outra no final do segundo semestre. No total foram recolhidos 670 questionários, sendo que 618 questionários estavam válidos. Como resultados, foi encontrada uma associação significativa do local onde os alunos passaram a infância com três das posições éticas; Contratualismo (p=.013); Direito dos Animais (p=.000); Respeito pela Natureza (p=.005).Verificaram-se diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre homens e mulheres e três das cinco posições éticas; Contratualismo (p=.000);Perspetiva Relacional (p=.001); Direito dos Animais (p=.005). Foi encontrada associação entre anos de curso e duas das cinco posições éticas; Contratualismo (p=.023) e Direito dos Animais(p=.005). E ainda associação entre cinco ,de doze, perguntas e as posições éticas.pt
dc.description.abstractThe main objectives of this study was to investigate the impact of Teaching on the students of veterinary medicine during their studies and to evaluate whether factors as gender or birthplace have a direct effect on the ethical position of the student. To achieve that goal, students of Veterinary Medicine of Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologia , from the 1st till the 5th year of theirs students, filled in a questionnaire, which was separated in two phases. One in the end of the first semester and the other in the end of the second semester. The students of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years were considered as control groups. In total 670 questionnaires were collected, from which 618 were considered as valid. As results, we found a significant connection between the place where the students were raised as children and 3 ethical positions: Contractualism (p=.013); Animal Rights (p=.000); Respect for Nature (p=.005). Furthermore, it was also verified a reasonable statistic difference between the gender of the students and three of the five ethical positions; Contractarian (p=.000); Relational (p=.001); Animal Rights (p=.005). Regarding the year of studies attended by the students, an association was found with two of the ethical positions; Contractarian (p=.023); Animal Rights (p=.005). Moreover, we concluded that there is also a connection between 5 of the 12 questions asked and the ethical positions.en
