Resumo
Esta dissertação tem como principal objetivo descrever e explicar o processo de desenho num projeto de arquitetura. Utilizando a proposta da unidade curricular de Arquitetura do 5º ano, da Universidade Lusófona do Porto, sobre a elaboração de um plano urbanístico para a zona de intervenção, na Avenida da Boavista, foi pedido um projeto de um hotel de 8000 m2 existindo a possibilidade de construir novos edifícios, que contribuíram para clarificar e unir, as diferentes tipologias de edificado existente naquela área. Na primeira fase deste projeto, deparei-me com vários problemas existentes nos dois terrenos escolhidos, para desenvolver o projeto. Para além disso, o terreno está dividido por uma rua (Rua Fernando Pessoa); um dos terrenos está virado para a avenida principal (Avenida da Boavista), enquanto que a outra parte do terreno, tem como vistas as traseiras dos edifícios que o envolvem. Para além desta divisão existente no local de intervenção, a envolvente não sugere um caminho obvio para a descoberta de uma solução, pois existe uma grande diversidade de edifícios, todos eles com cotas diferentes, funções diferentes, fachadas diferentes, volumetrias diferentes e materialidades diferentes. Esta mistura de edifícios veio criar dois tipos possíveis de implantações, continuando com os mesmos alinhamentos criados pelo Foco (conjunto de edifícios habitacionais e de escritórios), ou utilizando a torre do Burgo como, inspiração, sendo que em vez de se construir na horizontal, fugia- se ao que era esperado e projetava-se assim, um elemento pontual, uma torre. A solução que escolhi para o meu projeto, foi então a torre, utilizar este tipo edificatório que não é dominante naquela zona, queria que tivesse a mesma altura que a Torre do Burgo, com um propósito de distinção. A torre, tem 18 metros e 36 metros de comprimento, por uma questão de métrica (modulação dos quartos e organização da estrutura interna da torre). O hotel contem ainda um edifício adjacente, para organização das funções requeridas para o desenvolvimento deste projeto e também vai conseguir ajudar a criar uma ligação com as cotas estabelecidas pelos restantes volumes da envolvente.
This dissertation has as main objective to describe and explain the drawing process in an architectural project. Using the proposal of the 5th year Architecture course, from Universidade Lusófona do Porto, on the elaboration of an urban plan for the intervention area, on Avenida da Boavista, a project of a 8000 m2 hotel was requested, with the possibility of construct new buildings, which contributed to clarify and unite, the different types of buildings existing in that area. In the first phase of this project, I came across several problems existing in the two areas chosen to develop the project. In addition, the land is divided by a street (Rua Fernando Pessoa); one of the plots faces the main avenue (Avenida da Boavista), while the other part of the plot has views of the back of the buildings that surround it. In addition to this existing division at the intervention site, the surrounding area does not suggest an obvious path for finding a solution, as there is a great diversity of buildings, all of them with different levels, different functions, different facades, different volumes and different materialities. This mixture of buildings created two possible types of implantations, continuing with the same alignments created by Foco (set of residential and office buildings), or using the Burgo tower as an inspiration, instead of being built horizontally, one escaped what was expected and thus projected a point element, a tower. The solution I chose for my project, then, was the tower, to use this type of building that is not dominant in that area, I wanted it to be the same height as the Torre do Burgo, with a purpose of distinction. The tower is 18 meters long and 36 meters long, due to metrics (modulation of the rooms and organization of the internal structure of the tower). The hotel also contains an adjacent building, to organize the functions required for the development of this project and will also be able to help create a connection with the quotas established by the remaining volumes of the surroundings.
